i take photographs quickly.

i see something that appeals to me and i just snap it, before it's gone. i'm scared i'll miss it otherwise.

i don't really want to think about it too much.

i like when my dreams help me figure things out.

once, in high school, i couldn't solve a math problem. then i solved it in a dream.

sometimes it's less useful than that.

sometimes a dream just gives me a way to start a poem.

i like music. i like dancing.
i grew up with punk and bossa nova, but i'll listen to almost anything.

i don't take myself too seriously.

i write because sometimes i don't know what i'm feeling until i see it written down.

i'm curious about people.

about the brain.
relationships.
why we need each other.
what makes a community.
what makes one fall apart.

i'm interested in vedantic philosophy.

i'm not afraid of death.

i know it's going to happen.

maybe that's part of why i take the picture before it's gone.
